    Brother-in-law

Sean is slated to be Tom's brother-in-law. Seeing as Tom grew up without any brothers (until the addition of his step-brother Ted last year) he is rather excited to have another brother to do brotherly things with.

    Brothers don't shake hands....brothers hug.

  • Don "Bubba" Kubie

    BUBBA

What can be said about a man named "Bubba"? Tom has known Sir Bubs since he was 15. The two have laughed until they physically could not laugh any further and discovered together the great benefits of air ducts at stuffy concerts. Bubba and Tom were the last two bachelors of the original "group" (their High School crew) to get married. He just gave birth to his second son earlier in October. Actually, his wife Dawn did the birthing part. Bubba, Chris and Tom moved to Tahoe together after their undergraduate studies in the mid-90s.

Does this guy even need a title?

The original Albino Vampire, Chris was the one who introduced Tom to the "Group" and brought him in under his wing back when Tom was 15 and Chris was 17. Without that introduction, Tom would have been lost in High School and would have probably dropped out to become a transient riding the rails. Tom was Chris's Best Man (a position shared with Chris's little brother, Jay) if that is any indicator of their friendship. The twp moved together to Tahoe (with Bubba) after college and were introduced to the jewel of the Sierra together. The two have travelled many miles together. Many, many miles.

  • Patricia Cardinali

WB (can't say what that means)

Patty and Colleen became friends in gym class in 1987 while singing the theme to "It's Garry Shandling's Show" together. They obsessed over many ill-chosen TV shows, movies, boys, and bands in the years to follow. They also made many, many trips to Bridgewater Commons mall. One time on a WRSU managers' retreat, they sunk their own paddleboat. That's hard to do.

    America's Loss, Australia's Gain/ ECS

ECS and Colleen both worked at BUST magazine together in 2004 and became even better friends after Colleen moved on to the next job in ought-five. They have had epicly fun Saturdays in New York together, and on one such day, ECS met the Aussie who is now her husband Ed. They live in Melbourne, but are returning to America for a minimum of six months starting in June! YAY

  • Kim Gallina

    Oldest Friend, International Jet-Setter

Kim and Colleen met at age six or so in 1980 or so, when they were both growing up on Pleasant Plains Road in Stirling. After many years being out of touch, they reunited in NYC as adults and got along smashingly as if no time had passed. Since then, they have traveled to Sweden, Denmark, and Canada together while still cracking up about the same old kid stuff.

  • Therese Mahler

Dance Commander/ Mayor of Jersey City

Therese and Colleen met in 1992 when they were both aspiring DJs at WSOU, Seton Hall's Pirate Radio, the hardest rock. They have danced on too many dance floors, and rocked out at too many rock shows and comedy shows to mention*. They also have the same birthday.

*Except for the one Nirvana show where they famously bargained down a scalper for $2 tickets, which both agreed was better than getting in free.

  • Ellen Ryan

    Irish American Ambassador

Ellen and Colleen became fast friends when they were assigned as roommates at Bret Hall in 1994, and bonded over their common NJ/Irish Catholic background. They remained roommates at Rutgers thereafter. Later on they got into trouble camping in the Adirondacks, in Montreal, and at Irish Echo staff gatherings. They have been bringing up the same old stories to each other for years and still laugh just as much about them every time.

    Road Tripper Extroardinaire

Leah and Colleen both went to Rutgers but didn't officially meet until 1999 when they were both bartenders at the High Hat Lounge, which was in an old doomed (now razed) hotel and was the New Brunswick equivalent of that bar in The Shining. In 2007 they road tripped from Philly down to Baton Rouge, when they camped in Shenandoah, and also stopped in Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, and Oxford along the way. It was awesome.

    Kartek

Karin and Colleen met freshman year of high school, in 1988. They clocked many hours at the mall, Maxwell's, Pete's basement, and Chatham Park, wearing flannels, crazy tights and combat boots. Later they were housemates in college and managers on the radio station WRSU. It was with Karin that Colleen first experienced Louisiana (Mardi Gras) as well as California, while Karin was at grad school at Davis.

  • Elizabeth Kane

    Sis in Law/ Wedding Consultant

Elizabeth and Colleen probably met around 1979 or 80 as neighbors, and have been sisters- in- law since 2002. By the time Elizabeth's and Sean's wedding was over, she was an expert on wedding planning, she has since helped a few other friends with their plans, and she hopes to one day go pro. Liz is helping out these events with her ideas and expertise..
